U16's fall just short in Ulster Thriller

The ladies u16 team made the short journey to Emyvale, to take on tyrone in Round 4 of the Ulster championship.

The game started off at frantic pace and tyrone took the initative and led by 3 points with 20 mins on the clock. Monaghan then hauled themselves back into the game and fisted the ball into the net with the scores level at 1-2 to 5 points a piece.

3 mins later Tyrone struck back with a goal of their own to put a 5 point gap between the teams. Monaghan fought back with 2 unanswered points and a well worked goal to leave the sides level at the break.

The second half was evenly contested with Tyrone establishing a 2 point lead. Tyrone then scored their second goal of the game and established a 5 point lead with 20 mins gone in the second half.

Both sides traded points with Tyrone holding out for a 4 point victory. A great game of football and no doubt more to come from both sides.
